The 9 Hottest New Hot Tub Features And Ranges From Coast Spas

The New Year means two things. New Year’s resolutions. And the Coast Spas annual supplier meeting. Dealers from across the world descended upon the Westin Bayshore in Vancouver, Canada to find out what new-ness would be hitting hot tubs this year.

There was a staggering 65 new features/ranges for Coast Spas 2018. But you probably don’t want to read 65 and (honestly) I’m still working on remembering them all. So, here’s a round-up of the 9 most important new features that you need to know about:

1. New 5-seater and 6-seater hot tubs
2. Expanded 13-AMP hot tub range
3. Increased swimming area in the swim spas
4. New ‘Wellness spa’ hot tub range

5. Improved swim spa ‘river jets’
6. New ‘Coast cubby’ hot tub storage space
7. ‘Coast connect’ hot tub games table
8. Underwater Aquabike for swim spas
9. New Impulse jets (vibrating hot tub jets)
In Summary

1. New 5-seater and 6-seater hot tubs

Last year the new Element and Apex lounge models were amongst the top sellers worldwide. So, this year Coast launched the non-lounger models: Element (B) and the Apex (B). Whether you want a lie back lounger, or you don’t. There is now a 5-seater and 6-seater hot tub model for you.

They both come with the upgrade option of a 24″ waterfall and raised back.

Ps. B stands for bucket seats (a.k.a all sitting up seats, no lying down loungers).

Perfect for people who want a 5-seater or 6-seater hot tub, with no lie-back lounger. Ps. Holiday homes love these hot tubs so there is no fighting over the lounger seat.

2. Expanded 13-AMP hot tub range

2017 saw the addition of the fastest and cleanest filtration system to the ‘plug and play’ Patio series. Making an already popular range, even more, attractive.

This year, the popular Omega and Alpha models have been added to the Patio range. We’re really excited for the wider range of moulds that this gives people looking for a 13AMP model.

Perfect for people who love the Coast Spa models, but have limited delivery access or restrictions on power supply.

3. Increased the swimming area on swim spas

One of the main complaints about the previous 13ft and 14ft swim spas was that the swimming area was a tiny bit too short for tall people. To address this, the swimming space in the 13ft and 14ft swim spas was redesigned. Giving an extra 10 inches of swimming space.

There is also a new ‘stand-up’ therapy zone to hit tension in every part of your body.

Perfect for those who don’t have a lot of space, but need a longer swimming area

4. New ‘Wellness Spa’ hot tub range

The focus as Coast spas has always been on the health and wellness aspects of hot tubs. And this year the introduction of the top of the range ‘Wellness Spa’, has made it easier than ever to buy a spa that is built for powerful hydrotherapy.

The ‘Wellness Spa’, is available in the Element, Element (B), Apex, Apex (B) and Mirage. With options for 30 jet, 50 jet and 82 jet models.

They come built as standard with:

  • Xtreme lighting
  • O3 Ozone
  • Refresh Button
  • New impulse (vibrating) jets
  • Aquasole jets
  • Coast Connect
  • Exercise bands

Perfect for people who want a top of the range hot tub that comes fully loaded with everything you could need for a powerful hydrotherapy experience.

5. Improved swim spa ‘river jets’

For 2018, the swim spas also have an all-new ‘swim jet’ system. They’ve redesigned the traditional ‘river jets’ for a wider, more dispersed flow of water. That provides a stronger and less turbulent stream of water to swim against.

The swim jets can be set between 1 – 100% (100-speed pump). A fully variable speed flow. Within this, you can pre-set 10 different workouts to suit your fitness levels and goals.

Perfect for people who want a more powerful swim spa experience that is completely customisable for your fitness goals and ability.

6. New ‘Coast cubby’ hot tub storage space

This new feature gives you a place to store your towel/robe/slippers. Which, is especially handy in a country like Scotland which rains all the time. Keep them warm and toasty, waiting for when you jump back out.

Plus the cubby has a ‘hidden’ compartment with a built-in drainage hose, which is attached to a hose (so you can direct the water wherever you want). It empties the hot tub faster than a standard drainage valve (approx. 1 hour). So is great for speeding up your drain down and refill.

Perfect for people who want to keep their towel + robes warm and dry. Or for people who want to make their quarterly drain and cleans faster.

7. ‘Coast connect’ hot tub games table

Last year Coast Spas release the ‘Coast Connect’. A valve in the foot alcove designed for attachments to clip into that doubles as an extra jet when not in use. Last year we had the ‘Waterfall table’.

This year, we have the branch new ‘games table’. Which, comes complete with checkers and a pack of waterproof playing cards.

Plus, if you’re not using the games table, it doubles as another place to pop your drinks.

Perfect for people who want to use thier hot tub for socialising.

8. Underwater Aquabike for swim spas

underwater aqua bike

Swim spas are great for swimming, walking and rowing. But now, you can also cycle with the new underwater aquabike. For years this has been requested and so we’re really happy that this is finally available from Coast Spas.

Perfect for people who want to add a new dimension to their swim spa experience. Whether that’s for exercise or rehabilitative purposes.

9. New Impulse jets (vibrating hot tub jets)

Last but certainly not least, Coast Spas have exclusive access to the new Waterways Impulse jets. These activate when you push against them, and create a vibrating sensation. When they are not activated, power diverts to other jets.

What’s really great about these, is that they can be retrofitted to all existing Coast Spas jets (or any other hot tub using waterway jets).

Perfect for adding a different massage experience to the hot tub. Have a few standard plus a few impulse jets to mix it up a bit.
